I think that Buckeye Burl is probably my favorite wood to work with. No two shapes look the same, even if cut from the same block! The variety of texture, grain and color present such possibilities, and when they are sanded to a very fine grit, and polished, they take on a brilliance that is unparalleled. It gives one the feeling of finding turquoise in a cave, or encountering some type of fossil.
I chose to inlay these pieces with genuine Sonoran Turquoise because of its brilliant blue-green color.
